Our mission is to assist regional public safety agencies in the search, rescue, and recovery of individuals who are lost, missing, or otherwise overdue, in order to reunite them with their friends and family.  

About Us!

     River City Search & Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Jacksonville, Florida.  As a non profit, we rely on the donations from the community to provide our volunteers with the training and equipment that they need to succeed in the field.  River City SAR responds to requests law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency management agencies in north Florida and south Georgia. 

     Volunteers with River City SAR undergo extensive training before being considered deployable, or mission ready.  River City SAR utilizes the standards and nationally recognized certifications developed by the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR).  Volunteers receive training in:

- Lost Person Behavior          - Search Techniques          - NIMS/ICS                    - Search Theory               - Searcher Safety                  - Land Navigation                - Crime Scene Protocol - Search Resources

    Volunteers earn certifications through NASAR at the search & rescue technician or SARTECH III, II, and I level, with follow on training offered in mantracking, managing the lost person incident, planning section chief, urban search management, and initial actions.
